On December 14, 2018 we held our 3rd Christmas Community Concert "Navidad en Elsa, Texas" at Ebenezer-Ezer FamilyChurch in Else, TX in which toys were distributed to children of the community. We had Live music by three ministries Gift Giveaways and a Free Raffle. The ministries that performed were Rudy Guerra, Ramonsito Cantu and our ministry Los Alegres de Harlingen.
We had various small businesses donate moneys or gift cards for raffle prizes. Raffled off two bicycles, tablets, board games, gift basket with gift cards, tv sets and many amazing gifts to anyone who's raffle ticket number was called. At the end of the event, every child was given a gift bag with some gourmet popcorn and two small gifts. The general consensus was that everyone enjoyed the music, prizes and gifts.
Eben-Ezer Family Church really went above and beyond accommodating us with their beautiful house of worship to use to host the joyous event. As if that were not enough they surprised the ministries that performed with an amazing bar-b-que dinner after the service.

On Saturday June 10, 2017 we held a Community Concert in Benefit for our Ministry at the Lon C Hill Park in Harlingen.
Our goal was much like our first benefit concert to raise moneys to fund future events and tours. Our sponsors were mostly made up of small local businesses from the Rio Grande Valley area, Church Friends and Local Radio Stations.
The event was another success as we provided entertainment through music and preaching the word to the general public. Everyone enjoyed the live music and great food provided by the vendors on site. Very much like the first concert, everything worked out without setbacks and had zero complaints.

The City of Harlingen, TX was kind enough to facilitate the Lon C Hill Park to hold our event. The image shown above was a map we modified to help potential visitors and vendors get a general idea of the size and layout of the park. The park proved to be a great location for our concert as it had a properly maintained landscape, plenty of shade trees and many areas to venture out to explore. We had a Children's play ground off to one side, a butterfly garden in another area and a water park just a stroll away. Lon C Hill park also comes with a few pavilions and with outdoor electrical outlets. Lon C Hill is located at 1204 Fair Park Blvd in Harlingen, TX 78550. Across the street from the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium.
On Saturday December 5, 2015 we held our 2nd annual community concert entitled "An Alegres Toy Drive" at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium in Harlingen in which toys were distributed to children of the community. We had Live Music from different ministries, a sponsored Photo Booth and a few surprise guest speakers.
Our goal was to raise enough funds and toys to distribute gifts to as many children that attended the event. The amount of toys collected and dispersed far exceeded that amount. We had approximately 500 attendees the day of the toy drive. This event was our first indoor community event. We chose have it indoor for fear of what the unstable weather would bring. The evening was a success! We had over twice as many people lined up by the gift tables than the people we had in the stage/ theater area. Every child received over three gifts. Although we market through facebook and Christian media outlets, most people that attend are local families that see fliers or hear something through word of mouth. The night was truly festive and blessed.

On December 13, 2014 we held our 1st annual "Concierto Navideño " Community Concert at the Lon C Hill Park in Harlingen in which toys were distributed to children of the community.
Our goal was to raise enough funds and toys to distribute gifts to over 1,000 children that attended the event at the Lon C Hill Park in Harlingen. The amount of toys collected and dispersed far exceeded that amount. We had approximately 2,000 attendees the day of the toy drive, most of which were kids that were brought by parents that saw or heard our diligent marketing. Others were children from the surrounding neighborhoods, all of which received gifts as well. Needless to say, our goal was met.

On Saturday July 26, 2014 we held a Community Concert in Benefit for our Ministry at the Lon C Hill Park in Harlingen.
Our goal was to raise funds to keep our ministry moving forward with future events. Our primary sponsors are small local businesses from the Rio Grande Valley area, Church Friends and Local Radio Stations. Although our total moneys collected were just enough to cover the cost of the concert it was such a blast. We had approximately 2,000 attendees. We had a lot of people show up with their lawn chairs and many walk-ins. We had a few prop up their chairs in front of the stage area and many, many more dispersed through out the park. We had many assorted food vendors. Visitors enjoyed Great Local Music, Food and Refreshments. The few local officials that showed up were amazed how great of a time people were having. There was an environment that was 100% family oriented without sale alcohol beverages. Smoking was prohibited on the premises. The sound system was pieced together with our ministry's PA and Visiting Bands PA system. Although it was small we were told that the sound traveled over a quarter of a mile and could be heard perfectly and yet we had zero complaints from local authorities.
Part of what helped having had this concert on our local Park was that folks in the Rio Grande Valley love music. The bands that performed were of different music styles. There were music styles for people of different tastes. Our local officials were of tremendous getting our plans off the ground. We were guided on what items were needed to help accommodate our visitors. Boy were they right. We had enough Portable Toilet Cubicles, Hand Washing stations and Lighting. Lon C Hill Park has Electrical outlets installed through out the entire park so this provided our vendor sponsors access to electrical power.
The weather that day was perfect. A little warm and windy but that's just South Texas. All of the remarks were that everything turned out awesome and if there were any mishaps they went un noticed to the general public eye.

On Saturday October 6, 2012 we held a Benefit concert for our close family friends the Jose R. & Susie Rodriguez Family from Idalou, TX at Faithway Assembly Church in Lubbock, TX.
We met the Rodrigues Family winter of 1994 during a tour we made to West Texas. At the time Joe R. Rodriguez led his family in the Music Ministry Conjunto Libertad. Their ministry was similar to ours in many ways. It was mostly made up of family as ours and they also traveled and operated by faith. We immediately became close friends and remained in close contact through out the years. We played in many events together and visited each other frequently as if we were family. In our eyes we quickly became family. We were saddened when we learned that their family was hit with multiple hardships. Susie was diagnosed with Cancer a few years before we held the concert and the husband Joe a short time after. The bills were piling high as was the frustration. The family went from endless visits to hospitals and doctors with Susie to a second round with Jose. We felt the need to do something for them, at the very least lend a helping hand. We planned a benefit concert that would include various ministries playing music during the concert in hopes of encouraging attendees to donate moneys to the cause. All of the funds raised would go directly to the family.
We had a great turnout. There were families that traveled from a far and some local. We had a lot of music and some words of encouragement from different speakers. Joe Rodriguez and his ministry also participated that evening. Towards the end of the service, a prayer was held to bring support and healing over the family.
Sadly, Jose R. Rodriguez left us shortly after. He passed away a year later September 17, 2013. Susie has been cancer free since.
